Alexander McLeod from Wick, Caithness was a 20 year old farm labourer when he enlisted in to the volunteer company of the Seaforth Highlanders at Fort George 6-2-1901. He served in South Africa 15-3-1901 to 30-6-1902 when he returned home & was discharged.
