Scott Robertson served with the Gordon Highlanders in the Boer war of 1899-1902 & first landed in France 13-8-1914 serving with the 1st battalion. He sadly died of wounds in France & Flanders 14-12-1914 age 34 & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Menin Gate memorial at Ypres. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Henry & Louisa Ann Robertson of Edinburgh & that he had served with the regiment for 17 years & was a Boer war veteran. S.D.G.W states that he was both born & enlisted in Edinburgh.
