James Cloughley from Belfast enlisted in to the Royal Irish Rifles in Belfast 23-8-1892 age 18 & first landed in South Africa with the regiment 25-10-1899. He was taken prisoner of war at Stormberg 10-12-1899. But continued to serve with the regiment in South Africa until 11-9-1902. He returned to the UK & finally took his discharge in August 1904.
