George William James Skinner was born in Sunderland 11-11-1878 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy as a boy in 1896. He served onboard HMS Rambler 5-1-1899 through to 7-3-1901 & continued to serve with the Royal Navy until he transferred to the Coast Guard in 1919. He is also entitled to the British War Medal for services in WW1 & the LS&GC.
