Duncan Chalmers was both born, enlisted & lived in Dundee & first landed in France 14-8-1914 serving with the 1st battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 18-10-1914 & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Le Touret memorial. He is entitled to the August to November clasp for the ribbon of his 1914 star. This is confirmed on his MIC but the clasp is missing from the ribbon of the medal.
