Duncan McInness was born Mull Argyllshire & enlisted in Glasgow. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 23-4-1917 serving with the 6th battalion of the Black Watch under his new six figure T.F service number 2682961 & had seen prior service with the Scottish Horse with service number 5347. He was 22 years of age at the time of his death and having no known grave he is commemorated on the Arras memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Neil & Margaret McInnes of Fionphort, Ross of Mull, Argyll.
