Chief Engineman Hugh Victor Reuben Jones from Milford Haven was born 19-12-1897 & enlisted in to the RNR in December 1923. He was awarded his LS&GC in 1939 & was one of 19 crew members from HM Trawler Fleming who were lost at sea when the vessel was attacked by four German aircraft in the Thames estuary 24-7-1940. He was 43 years of age at the time of his death & was a member of the Royal Naval patrol service. He is commemorated on the Lowestoft naval memorial & the CWGC state that he was the late son of Hugh Morris Jones & Augusta Minnie Jones of Milford Haven Pembrokshire & the late husband of Martha Evelyn Jones also of Milford Haven.
