William Drysdale was born in Kingston, Lanarkshire & enlisted in Glasgow. He first landed in France 2-7-1915 & was killed in action in France & Flanders 13-8-1916 serving with the 6th battalion of the Cameron Highlanders. He was 19 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Pozieres British cemetery. The CWGC state that he was the late son of James Drysdale of 18 Balcarres Road, Moss Park, Glasgow
