A superb family group to the three Yortson brothers from Edinburgh.
1) 1914-15 Trio & memorial plaque

Andrew Yorston first landed in France 2-10-1915 serving with the 2nd Highland Light Infantry. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 14-11-1916. He was 24 years of age at the time of his death & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial on the Somme.

William Yorston was killed in action in France & Flanders 23-4-1917 age 26 serving with the 8th battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders & is buried in Guemappe British cemetery at Wancourt.

John Yorston first landed in France 26-9-1915 serving with the Royal Field Artillery.
All three men were born & enlisted in Edinburgh and are the sons of John & Alice Yorston of 10 Gibson terrace Edinburgh.
