Albert Stewart Currie enlisted in to the 1/5th battalion of the K.O.S.B 9-12-1915 & was discharged with silver war badge number 447509 on the 17th of August 1918 age 33. The war office casualty list dated 4-2-1918 stated that he had been wounded & that he was a resident of Dirleton. Due to the date of his wounding it is safe to assume that he was wounded in Palestine as this battalion did not serve in France until the middle of 1918 & prior to that had seen action in Gallipoli, The Mediterranean & Palestine. The recipient enlisted to late to have served on Gallipoli & is only entitled to the pair. Hence he was wounded in Palestine.
