Martin Henry Vincent Carney served with the 1st battalion of the Devon regiment during the Boer war of 1899-1902 & went on to serve in WW1 & in India with the Indian Ordnance Department. He was commissioned as Captain & deputy commissary in 1926 & retired in 1931. He can be found on the 1939 register living in Bristol & serving with the A.R.P.
