Only two recipients of this rank served in WW1 & both were fatal casualties
1) Harold Willison Nicholson was killed in action 13-10-1915 serving with the 5th battalion of the Lincolnshire regiment
2) Huntly Warwick Nicholson was killed in action 17-11-1914 serving with the 1st battalion of the Cheshire Regiment.
