Albert James Ede from Dover first landed in France 24-4-1915 serving as a SJT with the Royal Garrison Artillery. He was commissioned in to his own unit 31-10-1915 as a field promotion for services in the field & went on to be M.I.D for services in Mesopotamia in the London gazette 27-8-1918 & went on to the reserve of officers at the wars end. He was recalled for service in WW2 as a retired officer & was awarded the military M.B.E in the London gazette 8-6-1944. His home address was 24 Maison drive Road, Dover & he can be found on the 1911 census serving in Aden with the 64th coy R.G.A.
