1) WW1 Pair
To- 21649.PTE.W.D.COWARD.R.LANC.R
William Dyson Coward was killed in action in France & Flanders 15-8-1916 serving with the 8th battalion of the Royal Lancaster regiment. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial on the Somme.
2) WW1 Pair
To- 13015.PTE.W.COWARD.A.CYC.CORPS
Walter Coward first arrived overseas serving with the Army Cyclist Corps but went on to be transferred to the 11th service battalion of the Royal Sussex regiment (The South Downs battalion) with service number SD-3895. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 3-9-1916 & is buried in Ancre British cemetery at Beaumont Hamel.
Both men were born & lived in Barrow in Furness & enlisted in Ulverston & have the next of kin of Dyson Coward of 10 Bridge street, Ulverston, Lancs.
Both pairs are NEF/EF & Come complete with MIC details. Along with details from both SDGW & the CWGC.
