A Family group to the Sherratt brothers from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
1) GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal (MM) & Pair

Albert Edward Sherratt from Huddersfield was awarded the Military Medal for services in France in the London gazette 28-1-1918. He was serving with the 2nd battalion at the time of his award & the London gazette stated that he was a resident of Huddersfield.
2) WW1 Pair

Frank Sherratt was serving with the 701st company A.S.C When he died of accidental injuries at no-6 casualty clearing station 18-8-1916 age 26. He is buried in Barlin communal cemetery extension.
Both men were the two sons of Frederick & Ada Sherratt of 92 Gledholt Bank, Honley, Huddersfield.
On the 1911 census both men can be found living with their widowed father who was the Liberal club caretaker in Honley. Frank was 22 & Albert Edward was 16.
Both groups are GVF or better & the MM group is mounted as worn & comes with an original photograph of the recipient in uniform taken in Egypt 1919 & his membership card for the French Albert veterans association from 1966.
