Benjamin Wilde was a coal miner from Hamilton, Lanarkshire & enlisted 16-1-1915. He first landed in France 6-10-1915 & was attached to the 177th tunnelling company of the Royal Engineers in France from 20-6-1916 until 3-9-1917 when he returned to the Guards. He was wounded in France 21-8-1918 & was discharged to the class Z army reserve at the wars end.
