To- LIEUT.E.J.B.HAYES-SADLER.R.E
Edwin John Berkley Hayes-Sadler of the 3rd Bombay Sappers & Miners was serving with the 20th company of the Royal Engineers when he was killed in action in France & Flanders 28-10-1914. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial. He is recorded in the unit history as having headed up a splendid charge against the enemy at Neuve Chapelle.
2) WW1 British War Medal
To- CAPT.E.R.HAYES-SADLER
Ernest Reginald Hayes-Sadler of the 2/8th Gurkhas was killed in action in France & Flanders 30-10-1914 & is buried in Laventie military cemetery at La Gorgue. He is also entitled the AGS with 2 clasps and the 1914 Mons star & bar trio.
