George Kemp was born in Bradford & enlisted in Lancaster. He first landed in France 15-1-1915 serving as a C.S.MJR with the 1st battalion & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 8-5-1915. He was was awarded a posthumous mention in despatches for services in France 22-6-1915 & at that stage the gazette stated that he was both wounded & missing. He has no known grave & as such he is commemorated on the Menin gate at Ypres.
