James Templeton was both born & lived in Maryhill, Glasgow. He first landed in France 10-7-1915 serving with the 7th battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers 10-7-1915. He was wounded in October 1915 & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 25-9-1915 on the first day of the battle of Loos. He has no known grave & as such is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. He was a married man and his widow Mary Templeton lived at 60 Hathaway street, Maryhill, Glasgow.
