Archie Alistair Stewart Murray was born 5-12-1892 & entered the Royal Navy 18-9-1905. He came from a landed gentry family & is listed in Burkes. He served onboard HMS Swiftsure in the Persian Gulf & was wounded by gun shot to the hip in the early stages of WW1 & spent the rest of the war at the RN College, Dartmouth. He was placed on the retired list as a Commander in 1930. He passed away in 1964 & a number of online sources state he also served WW2?.
