FREDERICK.JOHN.NEWHAM (I.S.M)
Frederick John Newham was born in Brighton 1-7-77 & originally enlisted in to the Royal Navy in 1897. He spent 3 months serving with the RN until August of 1897 when he was discharged and allowed to join the 5th Lancers. He served with the regiment during the Boer war & WW1 & first landed in France 15-8-1914. He left the army in 1919 and went home to Brighton to become a postman. He was awarded the ISM in the London gazette 4-4-1939 for his services with the G.P.O in Brighton & passed away in Brighton in 1960 age 82.
N.E.F & a scarce combination. Complete with medal roll & MIC details. Along with London gazette details & the original case of issue for the ISM.
