William Taite was born in Middlesbrough in 1867 & was a grocers assistant when he enlisted in to the 4th Militia battalion in Richmond 3-8-1895. He was living in Beverley & was called up on the outbreak of the Boer War in 1899. He left Richmond as part of a draft onboard the HMT Windifridian for South Africa 1-4-1900. He was posted to the 1st battalion & returned to England 18-5-1901. He passed away in Middlesbrough in June 1935.
GVF With minor ek to the rim & complete with medal roll details & other basic research. The 1901 clasp is loose on the ribbon but is confirmed on the medal roll.
