Roy Gow was born at Gullane, Haddingtons & enlisted in North Berwick. He first landed in France 9-7-1915 serving with the 11th service battalion of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 27-9-1915 during the battle of Loos & sadly having no known grave he is commemorated on the Loos memorial. He was 21 years of age at the time of his death & is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late son of Alexander.G.Gow of St.Andrew's cottage, North Berwick, East Lothian.
