John Campbell Dick was a long serving officer of the 2nd Royal Munster Fusiliers. He had seen prior service with the regiment during the Boer war & was M.I.D for services in South Africa in the London gazette 19-9-01 & was entitled to both the Queens & Kings South Africa Medals. He first landed in France 14-2-1915 & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 9-5-1915 at Rue De Bois in the same action that Colonel Rickard was also K.I.A.He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Le Touret memorial. He is extensively written up & pictured in the story of the 2nd Munsters by Mrs Rickard.
