Robert Alfred Flaws was born on Shetland in the Shetland Islands 15-2-1898 & was a fitter & turner by trade. He enlisted for the duration of hostilities 20-6-18 and after initial training at HMS Pembroke. He was posted to HMS Indomitable & was discharged to shore at the wars end.
