Alfred Dodd was both born & enlisted in Wolverhampton. He first served overseas with the 22nd service battalion of the West Yorkshire Regiment. But had originally enlisted in to the South Staffordshire Regiment with service number 22433. He transferred to the Labour Corps with service number 10964 & died in service whilst in France & Flanders 19-11-1917 age 40. He is recorded by the CWGC as been a member of the 22nd labour battalion of the West Yorkshire Regiment & is buried in Etaples military cemetery. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Joseph & Ann Dodd of Wightbank near Wolverhampton but was born at Bradley Staffs.
