GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal (MM)

William James was a resident of Glasgow & was awarded the MM for services in France whilst serving with the 12th battalion. It was published in the London gazette 21-10-1918. The recipients MIC states that his WW1 pair was returned to the mint & as such his MM was the only medal that was actually issued to the recipient.
