James Mundy was born in Abbotsbury, Weymouth in 1882 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy as a boy in 1898. He was pensioned to shore in 1922 & returned to Abbotsbury where he became a long serving member of the local Rocket Apparatus volunteers. He died in 1969 & his ashes were scattered on his wife's grave.
