Ernest.H.Stephens enlisted 30-11-1916 & first served overseas with the 8th battalion of the Border Regiment & went on to serve with both the 5th & 8th battalions of the North Staffordshire Regiment. He was wounded in France 14-10-1918 & discharged with a silver war badge 16-12-1918 age 27.
