Francis John Hollowell was the elder son of the reverend William Hollowell. M.A vicar of higher Bebington. He was educated at Bradfield college Berkshire. Where he was captain of the football team & head prefect. He also represented the college at Bisley on two separate occasions. He then went on to study at Queen's college Oxford prior to being commissioned in to the 3rd Worcester Regiment in 1915 & was sadly killed in action on the Somme 7-7-1916 age 20 after just six weeks overseas. He is buried in Serre road cemetery No-2.
