Private Nesbitt was born in Chester-Le-Street, County Durham & enlisted in Newcastle on Tyne. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 19-9-1918 serving with the 15th service battalion of the Durham Light Infantry & is buried in Villers Hill British Cemetery at Villers-Guislain. He was 22 years of age at the time of his death & is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late son of William & Elizabeth Nesbitt of 40 Benwell Dene terrace, West Benwell, Newcastle on Tyne.
