James Alexander Jeffrey Blake was killed in action in France & Flanders 18-8-1916 serving with the 47th London divisional ammunition column whilst attached to the 235th Brigade. He was 25 years old at the time of his death & is buried in Serre road cemetery no-2 on the Somme. He is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of James and Jessie M. Blake, of "The Firs," South Woodford, Essex.
