Raymond Easton lived at 26 Kendall Terrace Leeds & volunteered for service in January 1915. He landed in France 26-7-1915 & served at Ypres & Arras prior to being awarded the MM for his services with the 37th D.S.C at Passchendaele ridge. This was published in the London gazette 18-7-1917 & he went on to be discharged to the class Z army reserve 26-8-1919. He has a lengthy entry in the national roll of the great war (Section 8 Leeds) and this states that his MM was awarded for coolness under heavy shell fire at Passchendaele Ridge.
