Forbes Sneddon / Sniddon was born at Bo'ness in 1888 & was serving onboard the SS. Cairnmona as a fireman 15-6-1918 when she was hit by the German UC-40 off the coast of Northumberland & he sadly became one of three casualties of the action. He was 30 years of age & having no known grave he is commemorated on the tower hill memorial in London. He is recorded by the CWGC as the son of Mendry & Janet Sniddon & the late husband of Catherine Sniddon (Nee Brown) of 12 Bowling green street, Leith (Born at Bowness)
GVF & complete with copy index card details & CWGC details. Surname is Sneddon on the medal & the index card but listed as Sniddon on CWGC. He also has a grave in Bo'ness cemetery despite being commemorated on the tower hill memorial.
