Robert.A.Forrest served with the 2nd battalion of the Yorkshire Light Infantry / K.O.Y.L.I in both India & South Africa but by the outbreak of WW1 he was serving as a pioneer with the Royal Engineers. He first landed in France 8-3-1915 & was discharged to the reserve at the wars end.
