The recipient was a resident of Kendal & first landed in theatre of war 2B Gallipoli / The Balkans 18-7-1915 serving with D Company of the 6th Border Regiment. He was wounded by gunshot to the neck 9-8-1916 and was discharged due to shell shock 26-1-1917.
