The reverend Oswald William Charles De-Blogg was born in London 1874 & was educated at the city of London college & kings college London. He became a Royal Navy Chaplain in 1905 and was chaplain to the Danuban ports 1905-1907. He went on to serve onboard HMS Acheron, HMS Temeraire , HMS Invincible, HMS Triumph & by 1912 was the warden of the RN home at Chatham. He was the first Archdeacon of Brazil in 1914 & both Chaplain to Rio De Janeiro & Hon Chaplain to the fleet. He served with the RND in Holland during 1918 & returned to his parish in Devonport in 1919. During WW2 he was chaplain to the cadets & acting chaplain RAF. He was a published author & a member of the magic circle along with being a well respected & accomplished ventriloquist. He died aged 85 in 1959 in Hampshire. He was granted permission from the king to wear the 1906 Romanian jubilee medal & this is well documented in his papers.
