Edmund William Montague Burrows was the son of Colonel.A.E.Burrows.CMG.RFA & as a boy attended Wellington College. He went on to attend the R.M.A Sandhurst & was commissioned into the R.F.A in 1912. He landed in France in September 1914 & went on to be mentioned in despatches for services in France in the London gazette 13-6-1916 & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 28-8-16. He is buried in Peronne road cemetery at Maricourt & is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late son of Colonel A.E.Burrows.CMG, CBE, RFA & Mary Claudine Burrows of Long Crendon, Thame, Oxon.
