Thomas Burton enlisted 15-5-1917 & first landed overseas serving with the 9th battalion of the North Staffordshire regiment. He was admitted to hospital with a Corneal ulcer 30-4-1918 & discharged with a silver war badge 22-9-1918 age 20. He went on to claim a war pension whilst living at 17 Vickers street, Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
