Robert Heywood was born & lived in Farington, Lancs & enlisted in Southport. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 7-10-1916 serving with the 12th service battalion of the Liverpool regiment. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial. The C.W.G.C state that he was the late 23 year old son of John Thomas Haywood & Ellen Haywood of 54 Mill Street, Farington, Preston, Lancs.
