Robert.P.Anderson first landed in France 13-8-1914 serving with the 1st battalion of the Gordon Highlanders. He was born in South Leith & enlisted in Edinburgh. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 2-4-1916 age 32.He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Menin gate memorial at Ypres. He is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late son of Mrs G Anderson of 8 Crown Street, Leith, Edinburgh.
