Herbert Henry brooks was born in Worlingham, Suffolk & enlisted in Norwich. He first landed in France 16-8-14 serving with the 1st battalion of the Norfolk regiment & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 22-10-1914. He was 21 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in the Boulogne eastern cemetery. He is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late brother of George Brooks of Kettlestone, Fakenham, Norfolk. He is entitled to the August to November clasp for the ribbon of his 1914 star but this is missing from the group. It is however confirmed on his MIC.
