To- WALTON NOEL OLLIFF LEE
2nd Lieutenant Lee was born in Barrow in Furness & was an associate member of the institute of civil engineers. He was commissioned in to the 1st battalion of the South Staffordshire Regiment & was sadly killed in action at the battle of Loos 25-9-1915. He originally served with the 28th battalion of the London regiment (Artists Rifles) & was 27 years of age at the time of his death. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Loos memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Walton & Charlotte Lee of 23 Blenheim Road, Bedford Park, Chiswick, London.
