Charles Lambert Lee was one of the original members of the 16th Service battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers / Newcastle Commercials battalion. He was born in Sunderland & enlisted in Cramlington. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 20-9-1917 serving with the 11th battalion & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. He was 20 years of age at the time of his death & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of Annie Lee of 7 Belle Vue Road, Sunderland.
