WW1 MERCANTILE MARINE PAIR, KIA SS KUT SANG 1918

MINT BOXED WW1 MERCANTILE MARINE PAIR TO, GEORGE.W.FULLERTON.GEORGE WALKER FULLERTON WAS LOST AT SEA WHEN THE S.S.KUT SANG WAS TORPEDOED 29-4-1918. THE RECIPIENT WAS A 2ND ENGINEER ON THE SHIP. HE WAS BORN 7-8-1881 IN BANKHEAD, ABERDEENSHIRE & WORKED FOR THE INDO-CHINA STEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY. THE SS.KUT SANG WAS SUNK BY A TORPEDO FROM THE U-105 OFF CAPE PALOS, SPAIN. THE COMPLETE CREW OF 59 MEN WERE LOST INCLUDING THE MASTER. HIS MEDALS WERE ISSUED TO HIS WIDOW 7-4-1922 AND AT THIS TIME SHE WAS LIVING AT 754 YOKER ROAD, YOKER, GLASGOW. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE TOWER HILL MEMORIAL & THE PAIR COMES COMPLETE WITH BOTH THE ORIGINAL BOXES AND ENVELOPES OF ISSUE ALONG WITH THE FORWARDING LETTER TO HIS WIDOW.
