1) 28909.PTE.P.G.HOWITT.DURHAM.L.I.PERCY GORDON HOWITT DIED IN FRANCE & FLANDERS 1-8-1916 SERVING WITH THE 13TH SERVICE BATTALION OF THE D.L.I.HE WAS BORN IN DARTFORD, KENT & ENLISTED IN NEWCASTLE ON TYNE.HE WAS 31 YEARS OF AGE WHEN HE DIED AND IS BURIED IN THE ALBERT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. THE C.W.G.C STATE HE WAS BORN IN NEWCASTLE AND WAS THE LATE SON OF ROBERT & BIDILIA HOWITT.
2) 2ND LIEUT.V.H.HOWITT. VICTOR.H.HOWITT FIRST LANDED IN FRANCE 28-8-1916 AS A PTE WITH THE K.R.R.C WITH SERVICE NUMBER R-20573. HE WAS COMMISSIONED IN TO THE NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS 29-5-1917 AND WHEN HE APPLIED FOR HIS MEDALS IN 1921 HE GAVE HIS HOME ADDRESS AS 27 EGLINTON TERRACE, NEWCASTLE ON TYNE.BOTH MEN CAN BE FOUND AS BROTHERS LIVING AT HOME IN NEWCASTLE ON BOTH THE 1901 & 1911 CENSUS WITH A TWO YEAR AGE GAP BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM. COMPLETE WITH MIC DETAILS FOR BOTH RECIPIENTS AND DETAILS FROM S.D.G.W & THE C.W.G.C FOR PERCY GORDON HOWITT.
