A superb family group to the Tait brothers From Jedburgh.one of whom was Kia in Palestine. Both have consecutive service numbers both prior to and after the 1916 territorial force re-numbering
1) mint boxed WW1 pair with postal envelopes & condolence slips to,7476.PTE.A.TAIT.K.O.S.B.Andrew Tait enlisted in 1914 in to the 4th K.O.S.B but did not proceed overseas until October of 1916 when he arrived in Egypt and then went on to Palestine.he participated in both battles of gaza and was KIA in Palestine 13-11-1917 age 23. He had been re-numbered with service number 200850 by this time and is buried in Ramleh war cemetery, Palestine.
2) WW1 pair to,7477 / 200851 PTE.H.TAIT.K.O.S.B. Harry Tate was in the same battalion and regiment as his brother and was involved in the same actions as his brother & sadly very probably was present when his brother was KIA. a very nice family group complete with the original obituary from the local parish magazine along with CWGC & SDGW details for one recipient and MIC details for both recipients.
